The criticism that came after the loss to the French national team does not worry Valentina Giacinti: “We know that people expect a lot from us, but a few missteps can happen because we are a group that is growing and still needs to work hard to get to the level of the best. Professionalism does not solve everything, it takes time.”
Thursday is Iceland. “We will face a very physical team that can count on some players of international depth, Bjorg Thorvaldsdottir is one of them, the goal scored on Sunday confirms it – concluded Giacinti – we will have to be careful and stay united. It is clear that I want to play, but the decision is up to the coach, and whatever choice he makes, I will be ready.”
