Federica Brignone, time to take stock: her admission
An unforgettable season after two very complicated years.
That’s how Federica Brignone, from the Snow Gala in Madonna di Campiglio, sums up her 2021-2022 culminating in winning the Super-G World Cup and two medals at Beijing 2022. But the premise at the beginning of the season was anything but rosy.
“The balance is definitely very positive,” Brignone noted. “These two years have been difficult for everyone in general, for people at home but also for us athletes. Everything has become complicated, from doing a ski race to even organizing a training session. But I managed to have a very good season, and the results this winter were beyond my goals.
“Bringing home a cup and two Olympic medals in the same season for me was fantastic. And reaching 20 wins was something crazy,” Federica Brignone recalled.
And now the work continues. “Cervinia is now a fixed stop during the summer. Now also during the beginning of August we will go to a gathering there. Also because I’ve been training and throwing down athletic after athletic for two months now. A skier in the summer does that. We train really hard, even though you would think we don’t do anything instead.”
