Martin Brundle asks Max Verstappen not to imitate Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna
The Red Bull driver is leading the championship
Martin Brundle commented in his Sky Sports F1 column on what happened in the last two races in Britain and Austria, which saw Ferrari return to victory.
The former driver dwelt on Max Verstappen’s style: “In Austria Max again showed himself to be correct and professional in his driving. He usually is, although he played to the limit when he defended himself against Mick Schumacher at Silverstone,” Brundle explained.
The Englishman does not want Verstappen to make any mistakes like other great champions of the past, “I remember what Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna did, who sometimes had a bit of a dirty drive. Max would do well to avoid doing what they did. It will be interesting to see if he gets worse during the course of the championship.”
On the World Championship this is his thought: “Max is quietly in the lead with 38 points. But that might have been different if Ferrari had been more reliable in Spain and Azerbaijan or had got the strategy right in Monaco and Britain.”
