F1, Nico Rosberg: “With Hamilton something has changed.”
Former German pilot: “Now the relationship is back to neutral.”
Nico Rosberg, the 2016 F1 world champion, in an interview with Eurosport returned to his troubled relationship with former Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton, whom he has known since his karting days: “The relationship collapsed when we started fighting for the World Championship. Not before. But it’s always like that: when you’re fighting to win every race and to win titles, it always happens like that.”
“It wasn’t a buildup of tension from one race to the next. There can’t be peace if you want the same title, especially when two drivers are at such a high level.”
“I don’t regret anything,” Rosberg continued, “There were sensational moments and a great fight. I am very proud of that. Now? It’s different, we are back to a neutral relationship, which is fine.”
