Improving on the fifth place achieved last season will not be an easy task for Lazio; however, the club could tap into the market to improve the squad and attempt the feat. After fixing the backline, the biancocelesti want to shore up the midfield and attack.

Maurizio Sarri’s targets are mainly two: Piotr Zielinski and Dries Mertens. The Pole had an erratic performance last year and may decide to make a change, re-embracing his former coach. However, Napoli’s demand is not indifferent and Claudio Lotito has already informed Sarri that he will not go crazy this session.

Mertens recently turned down another renewal proposal from De Laurentiis and the agreement between the parties is a long way off but the Belgian wants reassurance about the minutes he will be given in the capital.
