Luigi Piras sounds the alarm at home Cagliari

Speaking on TMW Radio, Luigi Piras sounded the alarm: “The mood in Cagliari is not good. This relegation was too bad, but that also happens in soccer. The important thing is to get back up, but to now we are not seeing real planning.”

“Surely when you go down to Serie B it is necessary to focus on category players. You also have to count that the salaries of players like Joao Pedro and Nandez for example become too expensive. There will be a lack of quality matches against the big teams, which are the ones that fill the stadium and consequently bring in revenue.”

“The biggest problem Cagliari will encounter will be the same one we encountered in the 1983-84 season. When you get relegated you always play with the pressure of having to win. That year as newly relegated not only did we fail to return to Serie A, we even saved ourselves with two days to go,” Piras concluded.
