Ducati, Bautista explains how he beat Rea
Spanish centaur redeems himself after Saturday’s crash and takes second place in race 2 at Donington ahead of rival Jonathan Rea
Alvaro Bautista is satisfied with his second place in race 2 of the British Superbike round. The Spanish centaur, after his crash in race 1, redeemed himself and beat his closest rival, Jonathan Rea, to finish in second place and stretch in the overall standings.
“It was an important race especially after yesterday’s crash, I could have finished second, but races are races. I learned from that mistake and the last corner, there are so many bumps, it’s always risky. I learned a lot behind Jonathan because he knows this track well. Today I changed something in my riding style. Yesterday I hurt my left hand and arm a little bit, however in the long race it was difficult, I had some pain after half the race.”
“The second position is very good, we knew this track would be difficult for me and Ducati. I apologize to my team for what happened yesterday, but it’s racing and this time it happened to me,” the Iberian concluded.
