Seventh anniversary of Jules Bianchi’s death
Exactly seven years have passed today since the death of Jules Bianchi, Charles Leclerc’s greatest friend. It is an anniversary that still hurts the Monegasque Ferrari driver, who then also lost Anthoine Hubert on the track three years ago.
But Leclerc can’t help but race: “I don’t think about the danger,” he said in an interview with the Daily Mail. “It’s very difficult when I think that people I loved are gone because of the sport I love, but I can’t help it. I’ve been programmed to race since I was a child, that’s all I can do, I’m only good at driving.”
In addition to the loss of two of his friends, there was also the loss of his father. But Leclerc never thought of quitting racing, “It was easy to get through that phase, I asked myself what my father would have wanted me to do,” he added, “I owe everything to him and therefore I race.
