F1, Max Verstappen unveils his next goal
Verstappen is +38 on Leclerc
The last two races in Britain and France saw a return to victory for Ferrari. Red Bull had won all the previous six races and still has a good lead in the constructors’ and drivers’ championships with Max Verstappen.
But now the reigning world champion wants to get back to winning ways at the next French GP, in Le Castellet, where he had achieved success a year ago by overtaking Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes in the final laps. “Last year in France we had a good result as a team,” Verstappen explained to the official Red Bull channels. “The track has many technical and fast corners in its final part, so it will be very important to treat the tires well, also because we will be facing a very hot weekend.
“I’m looking forward to getting back on track and hopefully in the next two races (France and Hungary) we can improve on the performance we got in Austria,” Verstappen added, “so we can learn from the result we got last time. The World Championship leader did not go down with second place at the Red Bull Ring behind Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari. Verstappen will still come to Paul Ricard with a 38-point lead in the standings over the Ferrarista.
