VL Pesaro re-embraces a familiar face
Pesaro re-embraces a familiar face
On Friday morning, Joe Blair, a longtime VL ‘Hall of Fame’ inductee, along with his three sons Joseph Jr., Jaeson and Jourdyan paid a visit to what was also his beloved company at the offices on Via Bertozzini.
The current deputy coach of the Washington Wizards in the NBA, an unforgettable red and white player in the 1999/2000 and 2001/2002 seasons, retraced some of the emotions he experienced with the Pesaro-based club: “This city has remained in my heart, the fans are exceptional and I am very happy to have seen Ario Costa and Walter Magnifico again. I arrived here for the first time 22 years ago, I always felt that the city was with us, one with the team and the club.”
Joseph still closely follows the events related to Carpegna Prosciutto Basket Pesaro: “Watching the matches of the last few years, I noticed that at the end of the game the players walk around the court; a custom that began when I played here. For me it’s a great pleasure, as well as having played with Walter Magnifico, a name that in the basketball world certainly needs no introduction!”
Blair will stay in Pesaro until Monday, so many people will have a chance to meet and greet him: “I will stay here until the beginning of the week, we are enjoying these summer days. So many people are showing me their affection, this shows once again the strength and beauty of this city. I am very proud of it.”
