25-22, 25-20, 25-15 the partials in favor of France.

Ferdinando De Giorgi’s Italy lasted basically only one set in the face of a great France, which beat the Azzurri in the Nations League semifinal, thus accessing the last act against the United States. The first partial, although lost, had given hope, but afterwards the Italian sextet showed all its inferiority in front of an almost perfect team.

To be noted, among the ranks of the French – coached by an old glory of Italian volleyball like Andrea Giani – the super performance of Patry (15 points), Ngapeth and Clevenot (14 each). The only Azzurro in double figures was Trentino’s setter Alessandro Michieletto, who put up 10 points.
