Carlos Alcaraz in the finals: praise already arrives for Lorenzo Musetti
A great challenge, and the big favorite knows it.
It will be Carlos Alcaraz who will contend with Lorenzo Musetti to win the ATP tournament in Hamburg, after clinching the final by beating Alex Molcan by a score of 7-6(2), 6-1. But the Spanish prodigy admits that the challenge against the Italian will by no means be a walk in the park.
“Lorenzo is playing really well,” Alcaraz declared in fact at the end of the match, as can be read on the ATP website, “Musetti is a great player, that is obvious. One against the other we will play a great final. To get this far he has played some very high level matches, and so have I. So I have great confidence, I hope to get to six in a row.”
Alcaraz shares with Musetti a string of eight straight sets won in Hamburg, but he acknowledges that he struggled early in the match against Molcan. “It was not easy, especially in the first set which was tight. I was a little frustrated, and then I recovered and I think he got a little confused. I am so happy to have won the final after such a match.”
