Filippo Tortu wants to get right back to dreaming
The words of Filippo Tortu
Filippo Tortu did not hide his disappointment over the elimination of the 4×100 at the World Championships in Eugene: “Winning is very difficult. Repeating is even more so.”
“We did not run the race we would have liked and we are disappointed. But this desire for redemption will be the fuel for the European Championships in Munich in a few weeks. We have a duty to try to dream again…Forza Italia,” he posted on Instagram.
The women’s 4×100, on the other hand, clinched entry into the rainbow final by setting a national record of 42.71 (a 13-cent improvement over 12 months ago, when they were, however, the first of those excluded from the Olympic final).
Zaynab Dosso, Dalia Kaddari, Anna Bongiorni and Vittoria Fontana (last year, with Irene Siragusa and Gloria Hooper in the first two fractions) seized access to the medal round with the seventh time overall, the result of excellent performances in the running phase and good in at least two out of three changes.
