Matteo Berrettini doesn’t want to waste time
Qualified for the Gstaad final
Matteo Berrettini flies to the final at the Atp 250 tournament in Gstaad. In fact, the Italian tennis player managed to overcome Austrian Dominic Thiem in two sets.
6-1 6-4 the score in favor of the Roman, back from the forfeit at Wimbledon due to Covid positivity, after an hour and 17 minutes of play against the Austrian winner of the 2020 Us Open on Swiss clay.
Now in the final, Berrettini, a former winner of the 2018 Atp tournament in Gstaad, will face one between Norway’s Casper Ruud and Spain’s Albert Ramos-Vinolas.
Berrettini is considered the best Italian player ever on grass, being the only one to have reached the Wimbledon final. He also boasts the second-best ranking ever for an Italian tennis player, having reached the No. 6 position in the ATP rankings in January 2022.
