F1, Charles Leclerc hit Stefano Domenicali
Verstappen now has a 63-point lead over Leclerc
Charles Leclerc’s mistake when he was leading the French GP may have been the decisive blow in the fight for the 2022 Formula 1 World Championship. In fact, the Ferrarista, who immediately took full responsibility for the accident, is now -63 from Max Verstappen.
The Monegasque driver’s reaction pleased Stefano Domenicali, president and CEO of Formula 1 itself: “It was a difficult day for Charles,” the former Ferrarista wrote in a tweet, “but he showed great dignity in his reaction to the final result and reminds us once again how incredible these young men are.
In the same tweet, Domenicali went on to congratulate Red Bull and Max Verstappen on their victory in the French race, just as he congratulated Mercedes on their double podium finish. Now his former team, Ferrari, will have to try to get back to winning ways as early as Hungary if they want to keep fighting for the championship.
