Marcell Jacobs, return remains an unknown
Sprinter struggles with adductor injury
Marcell Jacobs will continue rehabilitation from the injury that prevented him from fighting for the 100-meter title at the World Track and Field Championships in Eugene, but as far as a return date is concerned, there is still no certainty.
As communicated on Monday by Fidal, “Olympic 100-meter champion Marcell Jacobs underwent an MRI scan this morning in Rome at the Institute of Sports Science, which ascertained the presence of the results of an injury, assessable between first and second degree in reparative phase, at the right great adductor.”
“In light of the above,” the note further reads, “and of the rehabilitation period already intervened in the United States after the 100-meter heat run by the Italian at the World Championships, the FIDAL health staff has ordered the continuation of the rehabilitation path until complete recovery. Thus without specifying precise dates.
