Blue tennis legend on Lorenzo Musetti: “He’s the best-playing Italian.”

Former Italian tennis great Nicola Pietrangeli in an interview with Ansa incensed Lorenzo Musetti after his triumph in Hamburg against Carlos Alcaraz. “I called Musetti to congratulate him, to tell him that he reminds some of us old players and that he can get anywhere,” are Pietrangeli’s compliments.

“He was fantastic, he played like a champion. I looked for his number, he answered by calling me ‘lei’ but I told him he should not dare, I insisted that he should call me ‘tu’. For me he is the Italian who plays the best.”
