Dinamo Sassari, Bucchi’s roster is complete
Dynamo’s roster is complete
Dinamo officially announces that it has closed the roster for next season, the 13th consecutive in A for Sassari, which will be at the starting lineup to be competitive once again. A record of confirmations in the Banco’s house, there are 9 players who will remain with Coach Bucchi, as both Massimo Chessa and Luca Gandini will be part of the group. Two Academy youngsters who have made their mark this season, Stefano Piredda, class of 2006, already called up to the under-16 national team, and Riccardo Pisano, class of 2005, showcased at both the Next Generation Cup and the under-18 national finals, will be attached to the first team.
Dinamo has been working to try to maintain the backbone that did so well in the second half of last season by reaching the Scudetto semifinals, starting with point guard Gerald Robinson, who has turned the league’s fortunes around like a glove to the tune of crazy performances (his is also the all-time record for assists, 16 in the away game in Trieste), and continuing with Eimantas Bendzius, a deadly shooter and key player, who has tied himself to Banco until 2025.
Also remaining in Sassari are Filip Kruslin, defensive specialist and true team glue at the level of balance, and Stefano Gentile, confirmed until 2025 and called to be once again the wild card on the perimeter, able to cover multiple roles. Under the basket, a decisive season for the leap in quality for both Estonian Kaspar Treier, who will be committed in the summer with his national team, and Ousmane Diop, author of a very positive second half of the season. Both will start without the handicap of injuries that had forced them to the pole in the first round. Completing the Italian package are captain Jack Devecchi, in his 17th season in Dinamo, Sassarese’s Massimo Chessa, who has fully recovered from injury, and Luca Gandini, who enjoys absolute weight and esteem within the biancoblu locker room.
“I am very happy for the work done in synergy with Federico and for the efforts of the club to be able to confirm the block of last season, because it is increasingly difficult economically to maintain the structure of the previous championship. We shared the choices of new players that we strongly wanted. I believe they have the characteristics, talent and human qualities to blend well in our context, and I am sure that the “old guard” will help them in their integration. Now we have to work hard, with great humility, with the desire to improve every day but with great, great confidence in our means. Essential ingredients for a season that will bring satisfaction. It will be a very hard year, also considering the level of the market and investments that so many teams have made so far. For this reason, I don’t know if we are stronger than last year, the field will tell us, but if we combine our talent with the ability to sacrifice by working together, we will be very competitive in Italy and Europe giving joy to our fans. We will try to arrive already at our best for the Super Cup, which is the first appointment with a trophy up for grabs. It’s good to be there. We will try to be ready right away and play our best chance to do the best we can,” said the coach of the Sardinian team.
