Vagnati-Juric Lite, Ciccio Graziani goes down flat
Graziani without mincing words
Ciccio Graziani, an old glory of Torino, commented with ‘La Stampa’ on the furious quarrel between Granata’s Ds Davide Vagnati and coach Ivan Juric, issuing a very harsh sentence.
“No excuses, they both went too far and their behavior damaged the image of the club,” said the 1982 world champion. Vagnati perhaps gives the idea that he has lost his mind a bit and will have to justify that sentence in which he puts Cairo in the middle. But Juric, who is a very good technician, sometimes has to learn to mediate, to restrain himself, to complain less. If he provokes, then he has to take the other person’s reaction into account.”
“What should happen now? The logic would be for both of them to resign,” Graziani added, “but who would give up those lavish salary figures? Surely a step they should take toward the fans: they should apologize to them, in life you can make amends for your mistakes.”
On what Cairo should do to bring closure to the issue, Graziani is then even more lapidary: “Either send them both away or find another solution. It will not be easy for the patron, in the middle of the market, close to the beginning of the season, to make the right choice. He should seek advice from third parties.”
