Victory in three sets for the Blue

An important milestone comes for Jasmine Paolini. The Italian tennis player has indeed qualified for the semifinals of the Poland Open, a WTA 250 tournament underway on the red clay of Warsaw.

The 26-year-old from Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, the number ten seed on the draw, beat Swiss tennis player Viktorija Golubic in three sets in the quarters: 1-6 6-2 6-2 was the score in Paolini’s favor after an hour and 56 minutes of play. Golubic had won all three of their previous clashes.

The term WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) is used to refer to that association that brings together all female professional tennis players from all corners of the world.

The WTA, like the ATP, has as its main objective the organization and management of all WTA events, as well as the compilation of the ranking, called the WTA ranking.
