Wta Warsaw, Jasmine Paolini’s run comes to a halt
Defeated in two sets in the semifinals
Jasmine Paolini’s march in the WTA 250 tournament in Warsaw stopped just short of the final.
The Italian tennis player was in fact beaten decisively by Caroline Garcia, who won the semifinal in two sets after about an hour of play with a score of 6-1, 6-2. The Frenchwoman had beaten world number one and Warsaw home favorite Iga Swiatek in the quarters and will now play for the title in the final against Ana Bogdan of Romania.
The term WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) is used to refer to that association that brings together all female professional tennis players from all corners of the world.
The WTA, like the ATP, has as its main objective the organization and management of all WTA events, as well as the compilation of the ranking, called the WTA ranking.
