The Nba and the entire basketball world are in mourning. Indeed, Boston Celtics legend Bill Russell has passed away at the age of 88.
He played for the Massachusetts franchise from 1956 to 1969, winning 11 titles, making him the winningest player in Nba history.
Russell was one of the most dominant centers in American basketball history, sparking a legendary rivalry with Wilt Chamberlain and winning the Mvp title five times.
With the Boston Celtics also three seasons as player-coach, from 1966 to 1969, becoming the first African-American coach to lead an NBA franchise. He also had coaching experiences on the benches of Seattle and Sacramento.
