Camila Giorgi was to play with Spain’s Muguruza, who was injured
Camila Giorgi’s debut in the WTA 500 in San Jose, California, the first engagement of the North American round of the WTA circuit, has been postponed by one day. The Macerata player was supposed to make her debut against Spain’s Garbine Muguruza, who stopped due to a muscle problem and was forced to forfeit.
Camila’s match thus scales to Tuesday, when the Azzurra will face Russian Veronika Kudermetova, world number 19. For Giorgi it is a return to the court after her Wimbledon elimination a month ago.
