F1, Valtteri Bottas mocked as Charles Leclerc
Valtteri Bottas scuttled by hard tires during the Hungarian Grand Prix
The Hungarian Grand Prix was also bitter for Alfa Romeo, which like Ferrari had obvious problems with the hard tires. Valtteri Bottas paid as did Charles Leclerc for his choice of white tyres: “It was difficult, a bit like in France, because the hard tyres didn’t rise as fast as I hoped… we tried, we thought it would be the best opportunity for us, but in the end it wasn’t. We committed to a one-stop strategy, and it was hard to pull back.”
Bottas was then forced to stop for a technical problem: “With a few laps to go I had to stop the car for a technical problem, which was a real shame. I lost power, we don’t know the details yet: obviously it’s unfortunate and we will investigate with the team, but I think the points seem pretty unlikely. Now I’m looking forward to enjoying the summer break, to recharge and come back full of energy.”
