Carlos Sainz: “It was pretty big, I think it cost.”
Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz, who finished fourth in Hungary, revealed a backstory that may have affected the performance of his single-seater last Sunday: “When I got out of the car I noticed that there was a plastic bag on the side of the car. I don’t know if it cost me aerodynamic load because it was quite big,” are the words of the Iberian reported by The Race.
The yellow plastic bag was stuck in the air intakes on the side of the Spaniard’s F1-75, and no one noticed it until the race was over. Sainz’s single-seater certainly did not perform as expected, especially in the second half of the race.
