Novak Djokovic forfeits Montreal Masters 1000

Novak Djokovic’s crazy 2022 continues: the Serbian tennis player, fresh off his Wimbledon triumph, has made his forfeit from the Montreal Masters 1000, scheduled to start Aug. 8, official.

Nole was forced into this choice because of rules in Canada and the United States, which prohibit entry to those not vaccinated against Covid. The Serbian athlete was thus forced to cancel, as he will also forfeit the Cincinnati Masters 1000 and the Us Open shortly.

Djokovic, who is continuing training in Europe, is at great risk of dropping out of the top ten of the Atp rankings at the end of the summer, and is in danger of not participating in the Finals at the end of the year: to gain access he must finish at least in the top twenty of the race, after winning Wimbledon.
