F1, tension over Mick Schumacher: “Ferrari might get angry”
Mick Schumacher still has no contract for 2023 and Ferrari doesn’t want to lose him
Mick Schumacher will have to wait to know his future: the German driver does not yet have a contract for 2023, and Haas explained that it will not decide during the summer break, but until Monza or even later. The son of art is looking around, weighing up the various options: the most likely scenario seems to be a move to Alfa Romeo, but Schumi Jr could also leave the Ferrari orbit and settle at Alpine.
These are the words of Haas team principal Gunther Steiner to Racer: “We have never announced the driver before the summer break and this year things will not change. We don’t have to wait to find out what Ferrari thinks. About our agreement I don’t say anything otherwise they might get angry. About their agreement with Mick, on the other hand, I don’t know much, but if the boy decides to leave I can’t do anything. We hope to make our plans known in the fall.”
