Former Scottish driver David Coulthard in an interview with Channel 4 preached patience towards Charles Leclerc: “He is still maturing and that’s in the public eye, under the highest pressure in Formula 1, driving for Ferrari. Which is more than driving for a company, he represents a country, he represents the fans all over the world.”

“Look what happened in Azerbaijan during qualifying. He sends his Ferrari against the wall and says ‘I’m so stupid, I’m so stupid.’ Leclerc is not stupid, he is a brilliantly fast driver. Once Leclerc corrects those mistakes, and let’s remember that Max Verstappen also made mistakes like that early in his career, then we will see the real Charles Leclerc and how incredibly good he is.”
