Matteo Berrettini also wins off the court.

Having exited the Montreal Masters 1000 tournament prematurely at the hands of Spaniard Pablo Carreño Busta, Matteo Berrettini is already projected toward the next stop on the ATP Tour: the Cincinnati tournament. The season on the North American cement will culminate with the Us Open, which kicks off next August 29: an appointment not to be missed also because of the Roman tennis player’s participation in a charity event organized precisely on the courts of the New York facility.

Berrettini, along with Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, Felix Auger Aliassime and Rafa Nadal, will in fact be the protagonist of some exhibition matches organized to raise funds to support the Ukrainian population involved in the war. The event will be held on August 24, just before the official start of the main draw, on the Louis Armstrong court. The date chosen is certainly not accidental, as it coincides with the day of Ukraine’s proclaimed independence from the USSR, dating back to now far-off 1991.
