Linda Cerruti in tears after silver: “I told myself ‘enough is enough’!”
Linda Cerruti proud after silver: “I worked from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. for this”
Open applause for Linda Cerruti at the ongoing European Championships again in Rome, where she won a resounding silver medal in the artistic swimming technical solo. The 28-year-old from Savona, who finished second behind Ukraine’s Marta Fiedina, tearfully commented on her race, “The tension was a lot because anyway the technical individual is always my crucial point, but before entering the races my coaches helped me loosen up and also thanks to them I was able to do what I do in training. I trusted them 100 percent and I succeeded,” she told RAI microphones.
“I changed my mentality,” the Blue continued, “The single technician was always a little bit my flaw and I said ‘enough.’ I would get nervous and in the end in the water the result was not what I wanted and so I changed. Behind these achievements is a lot of work and a lot of training. We would start at 6:00 a.m. and the coaches would sometimes stay up until 1:00 a.m. to watch our videos.”
