MotoGP, now Marc Marquez fears throwing it all away
The optimism is there, the fear of still getting the recovery time wrong also.
Marc Marquez returns to talk about his physical condition in an interview granted to ‘DAZN,’ confirming that his workouts are proceeding at full speed but also that the next steps in his MotoGP rapprochement will be delicate and not to be missed.
“I have a CT scan scheduled, I will have it at the end of August, 12 weeks after the operation. It will be the test that will let us know if we can increase the pace of recovery or if it is more prudent not to do it,” Marquez explained. “But if for whatever reason they tell me to prolong the recovery even more, then I will do it. I can’t take the risk of throwing away all the work I’ve done so far.”
The time needed to see him back in MotoGP, then, is still potentially long. More importantly, neither he nor Honda have yet defined them precisely. “I am waiting for the doctors to tell me that I have regained the necessary strength. At that point getting on the bike will be one of the very first things I will do, because you have to make the specific muscles that need to recover work as well as possible,” Marquez concluded.
