Italy, Pozzecco tightens ranks after heavy loss in France
The Azzurri were narrowly defeated in Montpellier by France, Pozzecco: “A step backward.”
Italy falls sharply in Montpellier, beaten 100-68 by France, and after the match coach Gianmarco Pozzecco put it this way, “Tonight a step backward. We lacked energy and suffered their pressure on the ball that made us struggle to follow our game. France has a disproportionate physicality and at this point of preparation it is difficult for us to counter it.”
“I tried some situations and got good signs like in the case of Baldasso but we have to believe in what we are doing,” is the coach’s appeal, “understand how we have to play and put into practice the things we do in training. It is the second game of the summer and I expected these difficulties along such a complicated path.”
