F1 Ferrari, changes coming: warning to Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz

Ferrari Race Director Laurent Mekies: “There will be a point where we have to focus more on one driver.”

Ferrari Race Director Laurent Mekies in an interview with the official Formula 1 website warned about the possible policy change that Maranello might make in the coming races: “There will be a point where we will have to focus more on one driver than the other, if the position in the championship requires it. So, it doesn’t mean waiting for the mathematical difference but it means being at the point in the season where you think it’s the right thing to do.”

“Ferrari comes first,” Mekies specified. “About team orders there is more discussion outside Ferrari than inside Ferrari. But more seriously, again, we have always been very clear. We aim to have the best result for the team: Ferrari comes first.”
