The drawboards of the WTA circuit’s last Slam of the season have been finalized: for Jasmine Paolini immediately an almost insurmountable obstacle
The women’s draw for the 2022 Us Open has been decided: not benevolent ballot boxes for Italian tennis players. Jasmine Paolini immediately drew the toughest opponent, world number one Iga Swiatek.
Martina Trevisan, Italy’s number one, will instead face Russian Evgenija Rodina, while Camila Giorgi will have to contend with Hungarian Anna Bondar, world number 56. For Lucia Bronzetti there is the U.S. host Lauren Davis. Raducanu, the defending champion, has been paired with France’s Alize Cornet.
