Carlos Sainz better than Charles Leclerc: a statistic says so
Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc
For the Spanish press, paricularly in this case “As,” Carlos Sainz is better than Charles Leclerc.
In the Iberian peninsula they have been trying to carry on this head-to-head for months, while in Italy people have been clamoring to know why Maranello is not getting team orders to favor the Monegasque and let the son of the legendary rally driver run as a second driver.
The Madrid newspaper, however, has relaunched statistics published by F1’s official social channels showing the drivers’ average placing in the race. Behind Verstappen and Perez, there is Sainz himself, who has an average position of 2.89, compared to Leclerc’s 3.20.
There is, however, a small detail to take into account: the calculation is the child of the Madrid native’s four retirements against his teammate’s three. Sainz has therefore seen his results divided by a smaller number of races.
