“I don’t see it as a dire situation, it’s just that we’re a long way off.”
Lewis Hamilton, sixth in the afternoon’s free practice at Spa, was far from satisfied with the feeling he felt in his Mercedes: “Were we heavier this afternoon? I would say no, just that we are not very fast. I don’t know why. We went out and gave everything we had. It could be the tires, the pressures, the level of the wings. It could depend on a multitude of things.”
“It doesn’t feel like a disastrous situation, it’s just that we’re a long way off. Often we are in this situation on Friday and then things change on Saturday. I hope this is the case,” the British driver concluded to Sky Sports.
