“What am I supposed to do with these tires?”, “Sorry, it’s a mistake…”. The team radio between a stunned Charles Leclerc and the Ferrari box highlighted a new strategy error by the Maranello team during official qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix.

Yet another mix-up for the Prancing Horse in Q3 of qualifying. The Monegasque driver asked via team radio why he had a set of new tires despite not being able to fight for pole position due to penalties: the idea was in fact to use used tires, keeping the new soft tires for Sunday. From the race wall they admitted the mistake, then Leclerc made the attempt with the new tires anyway.
