Juve-Roma, José Mourinho unabashed: “I was ashamed.”
“I said I felt ashamed for them to be their coach.”
Without mincing his words, and very honestly, José Mourinho did not hide behind a finger in his analysis of the draw that matured in a comeback in Turin after a first half that saw the Giallorossi crushed by the Bianconeri’s superiority. In the second half, thanks to the Portuguese coach’s changes, the music changed, but the Special One seems not to have forgotten what happened in the first half. Here are his words to the microphones of DAZN.
“I also told Allegri at the end of the game: we had c*** in the first half and in the second half we did something more,” the Portuguese began. “I told my players at halftime that I felt ashamed, for them, to be their coach. We are not talking about tactics, we are talking about attitude. We cannot come here with this attitude. I was telling Foti on the bench to pray that it would only end 1-0. I told the players to take advantage of today’s luck, because the game could have been closed in the first half. Sometimes you can be dominated, but you have to manage the game well, and we didn’t do that either. It was sheer luck to get to halftime on 1-0,” the coach concluded.
