Juventus, Milik surprise: “I wanted to stay in Marseille.”

Early Monday afternoon Arkadiusz Milik was introduced as a new Juventus player: “This is a very special moment in my life, it has always been my goal to play for such a big club. I want to give something special to the team, do well and score a lot of goals. So many times my name has passed around Juventus, 2-3 years ago it could have materialized but in the end nothing was done. I don’t look at the past, it matters what’s there now. And I am happy with the choice, to be here, as said before I hope I will score many goals.”

Somewhat surprisingly, the former Napoli man then said, “At the end of the season I wanted to stay at Marseille, there was a good project. Then things changed a bit, with the coach and new players. An important opportunity came for me and I decided to make this choice.”

There are those who compare Vlahovic to Lewandowski: “Difficult to compare players. Dusan is very young, certainly strong while Lewandowski is in another moment of his career. They are both strong, for strikers numbers speak. Dusan is young and has a great future ahead of him, while Lewa is 34 years old: it’s a difficult time to make a comparison.”

Milik is able to play alone or alongside Vlahovic: Physically I am fine. I scored 30 goals in 50 games however what I did doesn’t count anymore, only what you do in the present and the next game counts. now I write new pages, this is the most important thing. If you play, you have to score. My role is to score goals. I like to play either alone or with two forwards. The team is chosen by the coach, he decides.”
