Winning debut for Giorgi
Anything but an easy debut for Camila Giorgi at the 2022 US Open.
The Italian tennis player came out on top in three sets, regaining an early disadvantage against Hungarian holder Anna Bondar and closing on a score of 4-6 6-3 6-1.
The world number 55 proved to be a tough opponent for the Marche player who, at least in the first set, struggled. From the second set, a different Camila Giorgi took the court, allowing Bondar little margin.
Despite a few free errors, the Italian brought home the second set thanks to two breaks and closed with ease in the third, conceding only one game to the Hungarian.
