Juventus tamed by an excellent Fiorentina: it ends in a draw at the Franchi
1-1 in classic showdown between two historic rivals
Fiorentina and Juventus open the fifth day of the Serie A championship with an emotion-packed 1-1 draw: a result that, as the match unfolds, is closer for the Viola than for the Bianconeri, saved by the excellent performance of goalkeeper Mattia Perin and the scoring streak of newcomer Arek Milik.
It was precisely the Pole, in fact, who put Max Allegri’s team ahead in the 9th minute, taking advantage of Kostic’s decisive pass. The illusion of a downhill match ended immediately, however, as Vnicenzo Italiano’s men immediately went in search of an equalizer and found it on the half-hour with Christian Kouamé, in his first goal of the season.
Just before halftime the Viola also have a great opportunity to complete the comeback: Paredes, on his first in the Bianconeri, touches the ball with his hand in the box, the Var confirms the penalty but Luka Jovic, from the penalty spot, gets hypnotized by Perin.
In the second half, the pace dropped but the Viola continued to be favored: Perin, however, was alert and avoided damage, the Bianconeri resisted and won a draw that smacks of a point earned.
