Ferrari-Monza, Charles Leclerc is almost resigned
“We will try to make a miracle,” Leclerc said.
Following Max Verstappen’s umpteenth show of strength, victorious in his home Grand Prix at the Zandvoort circuit, Charles Leclerc spoke out on the possibility of scoring a win in Monza, where the Gp is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 11.
“Maybe in Zandvoort I could finish second, but I could never beat Max, he was too fast. It’s a relief to be back on the podium, that puts a smile on my face, but I want to win. I just have to think race by race and in each one try to see what potential I have,” explained the Ferrari driver, third in the Dutch Grand Prix.
“Now I think Mercedes is a threat for us, it will be a difficult end to the season. On paper Monza is not a track favorable to our characteristics, but we are motivated and we will push the car to the maximum. We will try anything to make the miracle,” Leclerc continued, also setting his eyes on Mercedes, as well as the usual Verstappen, ahead of the Italian GP.
