Italy Davis Cup captain Volandri on Jannik Sinner: “Not all experiments always go well.”

Filippo Volandri in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport talked about the moment of Jannik Sinner, who reached the round of 16 at the Us Open: “Jannik struggled in the first round, but it was a difficult match with a lot of wind. Then in the other matches he grew.”

The Italian has not always been continuous in his play: the Davis Cup Italy captain explained his lapses this way. “He has some small gaps where he, when he feels confident, tries to experiment. Not always all experiments go well, but this young Italy is just beautiful.”

The Azzurri are due for their Davis Cup engagement in Bologna: “The team is confirmed, so we hope to be all there and fit to give everything in front of the home crowd.”
