Chelsea, Tuchel’s bench blows up
Exoneration for Tuchel after bad defeat
The coach of the Blues, reigning world champions, has been exonerated after the ugly defeat in Zagreb. The ownership’s decision came after a disappointing start for Chelsea in the Premier League, with only 10 points obtained in six games, and the resounding defeat on the debut in the Champions League, against Dinamo Zagreb.
The London club issued a press release that read, “On behalf of all Chelsea FC employees, the Club would like to express its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during his time at the Club.
Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea history after winning the Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup during his time here. As we reach 100 days since acquiring the club, and as the hard work continues to move the club forward, the new owners believe the time is right to make this transition.
Chelsea’s technical staff will be in charge of the team’s training and preparation for upcoming matches, while the club is moving quickly to appoint a new coach.
There will be no further comment until the new coach is appointed.”
