Primoz Roglic quits the Vuelta
Roglic must drop out of the Vuelta
Team Jumbo-Visma with an official note released on its social channels announced that Primoz Roglic will not be among the cyclists present at the start of the 17th stage of the Vuelta, which goes from Aracena to Monasterio de Tentudia.
On Tuesday, Sept. 6, the Slovenian rider crashed a few meters from the finish, crossing the finish line exhausted and in very poor condition. The race’s medical bulletin in the evening announced only “superficial injuries to the elbow, hip, knee, and ribs,” but Roglic and his team preferred not to risk it.
Roglic thus cedes second position in the overall standings to Spaniard Enric Mas, who is 2’01” behind leader Remco Evenepoel.
