Filippo Ganna reassured everyone via Instagram about his condition after retiring at Ghent-Wevelgem when there were 142 km to go.
“Bad day, getting back up and thinking about tomorrow. Thank you all for the messages, nothing serious, just a heavy blow to my right knee. Thank you.”
Ganna probably decided to protect himself ahead of Paris-Roubaix, his real goal, scheduled in two weeks.
Having finished second at the last Milan-San Remo, he was given in good shape.
