Paolo Bertolucci harshly criticized the Us Open organization for how it handled the match between Sinner and Alcaraz

Paolo Bertolucci in an interview with Agi harshly criticized the organizers of the Us Open for how they handled the match between rising stars Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner: “I consider very serious the Atp’s silence on the scheduling of the match between Alcaraz and Sinner in ‘prime time’ for TV needs. By now, players to take money would do anything, as seen at Wimbledon, but if you open a gate then it is difficult to close it,” said the former blue tennis player.

The very long match between the Murcian and the South Tyrolean ended late at night: “It had also happened in the Davis Cup in Madrid or Australia and even then the tennis players didn’t complain despite this fake programming the matches. Today Alcaraz went to bed at least at six in the morning. How will he recover for the semifinal? The organizers say they are ‘proud’, proud, when matches end at three or four in the morning and five hundred people are left to watch them, but I consider instead this scheduling outside of all logic. A madness.”
