New acquisition for Ettore Messina’s Olimpia Milano: it’s Leonardo Okeke, class of 2003 coming from Derthona Basket but who played last season in the colors of Casale Monferrato. The forward will move immediately on loan to Joventut Badalona, where he will play for the next two years.

“Pallacanestro Olimpia Milano announces that it has reached a five-year agreement with Leonardo Okeke, a 2.12 wing, class of 2003. Born in Monza on July 16, 2003, and from an Italian basketball background, last year Okeke was in Casale Monferrato where he was named best Under 22 in the Serie A league (9.4 points and 7.7 rebounds average). He previously completed his youth career in Borgomanero and played in Serie B at Oleggio. This summer he made his Italian national team debut, scoring seven points against Slovenia in Trieste. At the 2022 Under-20 European Championships, he scored 14.0 points per contest with 8.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals. Okeke wore Olimpia’s jersey in the 2019/20 Next Generation Tournament,” reads the note released by the red and white club.
