Berrettini wants to redeem himself after US Open

A few days after his elimination from the U.S. Open at the hands of Norway’s Casper Ruud, Matteo Berrettini, who was at the Assago Forum on Thursday evening, Sept. 8, to cheer Gianmarco Pozzecco’s Italbasket, spoke to Sky microphones.

The Roman emphasized how he will immediately have a chance to redeem himself, after being excluded from the board of the last Slam of the year: “It has been a complicated year, with difficult moments. Now I want to use Davis to redeem myself, the team is ready, and Jannik played a great match (referring to the match against Alcaraz, ed.).”

“We are ready. I think it’s a fair and natural pressure. But we are also a young team, which needs time to get into the game, form a group that will make a difference,” continued the 1996 class.

Finally, one last hope for 2022, that of being able to participate in the Atp Finals, which will once again be held in Turin: “Hope is always the last to die. I have confidence in my means, but it does not depend only on me.”
