Milan ahead with difficulty: Sampdoria knocked out

Not without some difficulty, Milan managed to beat Sampdoria and take the three points. Scoring for the Rossoneri Messias and Giroud, for the Blucerchiati Djuricic. Goal disallowed to De Ketelaere and red to Leao who will miss the match against Napoli.

Ready to go and the Italian champions took the lead: in the 5th minute Leao ran away on the left, then a series of rebounds favored Messias, who decisively dumped the ball into the net. Five minutes passed and Sampdoria made itself dangerous with the crossbar hit by Djuricic. In minute 21, the Rossoneri double through De Ketelaere but Var cancels for Giroud’s offside.

The second half starts in the worst way for Pioli’s gang: Leao tries a reverse but hits Ferrari in the middle, the referee draws the second yellow card and the Portuguese is sent to the shower. The Blucerchiati took advantage and tied the score in the 51st minute: Augello’s cross and Djuricic’s winning header.

The guests did not take it lying down and poured into the attack. The turning point came in the 66th minute: Villar struck with his hand in the box and was awarded a penalty kick, which Giroud converted by piercing Audero. Tonali and his teammates lowered their center of gravity and Giampaolo’s gang tried to take advantage, coming very close to scoring on two occasions but failing to break down the Maignan shutter.
